Find My Vehicle

What Do I Do Now That I Found My Vehicle?

INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT?

If you have full coverage insurance and were in an accident, file a claim with your insurance provider. They will handle everything, including vehicle pickup and payment of fees. Please visit whichever respective yard your vehicle is being stored to collect your belongings, or contact your insurance company to retrieve them later. We require a verbal or written "release" from you before releasing the vehicle to your insurer.

If you’ve been in an accident, don't have full coverage insurance, and the vehicle is a total loss, you have a few options:

  1. You can arrange to have the vehicle towed to a location of your choice. Whether you use our towing service, another company, or your own trailer, the choice is yours.
  2. Consider contacting local vehicle recycling centers to see what they’ll offer for the vehicle as scrap metal. Typically, they’ll meet you here, pay you, and take the title. However, you’ll need to settle any fees before the vehicle can be released.
  3. If you don’t want to keep or sell the vehicle, you can surrender the title over to Wiggins Junction. In doing so, you would still be responsible for any outstanding fees, and we would handle the disposal/salvage of the vehicle.

VEHICLE IMPOUNDED?

If your vehicle was impounded by a police agency, you MUST HAVE the following UP TO DATE/VALID documents to retrieve your vehicle:

  1. Insurance with matching vehicle vin - digital copies accepted
  2. Registration
  3. Driver's license - if you're the registered owner but don't have a valid driver's license, you must bring a valid photo ID and have someone with a driver's license accompany you to drive the vehicle out.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE CURRENT REGISTRATION OR INSURANCE?

The vehicle can still be retrieved but must be towed out of the tow lot with the following:

  1. Title to the vehicle
  2. OR Valid driver's license/ID card, expired registration of one year or less

WHAT IF THE REGISTERED OWNER IS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE THE CAR?

The vehicle can still be retrieved by doing the following:

  1. To authorize someone to retrieve your vehicle from our yard, provide them with a notarized letter stating your approval. Here's an example:

"I, [Registered Owner's Name], give [Appointed Person's Name] permission to retrieve my [Vehicle Information, including VIN] from the Wiggins Junction Tow Yard."
